Senator Ireti Kingibe dumps LP for ADC

Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory, has officially dumped the Labour Party(LP) for the African Democratic Congress(ADC).

The lawmaker formalised her defection in Abuja, where she received her ADC membership card.

She described the move as a strategic step to broaden her political reach and enhance development efforts for residents of the FCT.

Addressing party stakeholders, Kingibe called for unity and hard work ahead of the 2026 Area Council elections and the 2027 general polls.

ADC leaders at the event expressed confidence in the party’s growing strength in the capital.

Former National Chairman, Ralphs Okey-Nwosu, said the party was positioning itself to secure all Area Council chairmanship seats and win National Assembly contests in the FCT.

Also speaking, the ADC Deputy National Organising Secretary assured the senator of the party’s readiness to support her and pursue electoral victories.

ADC candidates contesting the six Area Councils in the FCT were also presented with the party flags at the event.
