Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team has raised alarm over what they call unfair treatment in her ongoing legal saga.
Despite submitting twelve petitions to authorities between March and May 2025 covering serious allegations such as cyberstalking, threats to life, defamation, and other security matters,the Federal Government has moved forward with filing charges against the senator while leaving her own complaints unattended.
Her lawyer, Uju Nwoduwu, expressed frustration that while those petitions remain either under review or completely ignored, the senator is now facing legal charges tied to unrelated allegations.
Some of the ignored petitions reportedly involve violent threats made by individuals currently holding public office.
Though currently abroad on personal matters, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has acknowledged receiving court documents and has confirmed she is ready to appear in court as soon as an arraignment date is set.
Her legal team spoke on her commitment to due process and thanked the public for their support, urging law enforcement to apply justice equally without favouritism or delay.
The statement concluded with a strong call for all outstanding petitions to be investigated fairly and thoroughly, so that justice can be truly served on all sides.
