Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has reacted to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over alleged attacks on Christians.
The saxophonist used satire to lampoon the situation during an Instagram Live session.
Kuti humorously warned Trump against visiting Nigeria during the festive “Detty December” period.
He stated that the country should be spared any chaos during the holiday season. He went on to list elite areas in Lagos and Abuja as potential targets in jest, before adding that he would flee to Brazil once any conflict began.
Beneath the humor, Kuti’s commentary highlighted deep frustration with Nigeria’s leadership, suggesting that decades of poor governance have left citizens disconnected from national infrastructure and indifferent to its possible destruction.
