Shake-up as Army appoints new leaders
The Nigerian Army has made changes to its top leadership, appointing new commanders and senior officers to head major formations across the country.
The adjustments affect positions including General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), and other key roles.
Major General Chinedu Nnebeife will lead the 2 Division in Ibadan, while Major General ASK Wase takes over as GOC of the 1 Division in Kaduna.
In the army’s senior administrative and intelligence ranks, Major General M.O. Erebelu becomes Provost Marshall, and Major General A.A. Idris is appointed Chief of Military Intelligence.
Other changes include Major General JE Osifo overseeing the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), and Major General AA Adeyinka as Chief of Logistics at Army Headquarters.
Major General Adetoba will now head the Nigerian Army College of Logistics Management (NACOLM), and Major General Ugiagbe, previously Chief of Military Intelligence, moves to lead the Army Standards and Evaluation (CASE).
Additionally, Major General Akesode has been assigned to lead the Monitoring, Verification, and Compliance Mission in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region. Major General M.T. Abdullahi now heads the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Center (NACWC).
These appointments and transfers are set to take effect between August 19 and 25, reshaping the command structure and positioning the army’s senior officers across both domestic and international operations.
