The Kano State Government has ordered the closure of all primary and secondary schools across the state for the Eid-el-Kabir holiday, starting from Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The break affects both day and boarding schools and will last until Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The directive was issued by the Kano State Ministry of Education and applies to all public and private schools under its supervision.
Parents and guardians of boarding students were asked to take their children home by the morning of June 4 to allow them spend the holiday with their families.
According to the Ministry, the decision to begin the break on June 4 was in line with the current academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session.
The resumption date for all students has been set for June 15, and teaching is expected to continue immediately.
The Ministry also made it clear that this holiday does not affect any other part of the school calendar.
All other activities and public holidays already planned will go on as scheduled.
Parents have been urged to make sure their children return on time and are ready to resume classes without delay.
The state government thanked families for their usual support and cooperation and wished students a peaceful and joyful celebration.
