State governor hands over power to deputy

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has transferred power to his deputy, Malam Faruk Lawal, as he prepares to begin a three-week medical leave on August 18.

The handover, confirmed by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango, is aimed at ensuring that governance continues without disruption during his absence.

Radda said the break will enable him to undergo medical checks and return with renewed energy to serve the state.

He thanked residents for their support and assured them that ongoing programmes and projects will continue under his deputy’s leadership.

Recall that the governor was involved in while on official duty.

The minor crash occurred on July 20 along the Daura–Katsina Highway.

The governor sustained only light injuries and his condition was described as stable and positive.

He was quickly taken to a medical facility for evaluation and observation.
