An aide to Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, Wale Ade-Oba, has resigned from his position.
Ade-Oba was appointed by the governor as a member of the Ekiti State Waste Management Board.
He accused Oyebanji of failing to bring real development to the state despite receiving large allocations.
Ade-Oba announced his decision on Tuesday, saying he could no longer continue working with a government that, in his view, has not delivered meaningful results, especially in areas like Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, where he hails from.
He claimed the governor is often away from Ekiti, following unclear plans that do not benefit the people.
He also said the absence of the governor is affecting leadership and productivity across the state.
The former aide added that loyal party members are being sidelined while those from opposition parties are given top positions.
He described this as unfair to those who worked hard for the party’s success.
Ade-Oba said he would now work with Kayode Ojo, the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, believing Ojo has a better plan to move Ekiti forward and involve committed party members in governance.
