Merry in palace as Oba of Benin celebrates 68th birthday, coronation anniversary

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, has celebrated his 68th birthday and the 6th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of the ancient kingdom.

Recall that the Oba ascended the throne on October 20, 2016, the same date as his birthday. He is the 40th Oba of Benin Kingdom.

Comments and congratulations have flooded in on social media for the monarch as he marks the day in grand style.

The monarch was recently bestowed with the National Award of Commander of Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ace Nigerian musician David Adeleke aka Davido has also wished the Oba a happy birthday, who shares the same birthday as his son, Ifeanyi.
