Tempers Flare as Davido refers to Burna Boy as Newcomer in Music Industry [video]

Ace Nigerian Afro pop star David Adeleke aka Davido, has spurred a trending conversation after he referred to colleague Burna boy as a “new cat” in the music industry.

David made the offhand statement during an interview where he’d been talking about a number of things including his new album and features on it.

While remarking on the growth of the Nigerian music industry, David stated that another of his colleagues Wizkid and himself had been amongst the first to take things to another level.

He added that Burna boy alongside some others like Fireboy and Mayorkun were also doing incredibly well though he referred to them as “new cats”.

Burna’s fans popularly known as Outsiders and some others haven’t taken the OBO’s comment in a good light and tagged it disrespectful.

Others have however chimed in: insisting that Burna took much longer to become a global success than Wizkid and David did, hence he was new compared to them.
