Termites ate my primary school certificate – Chief Justice of Nigeria Tanko Mohammed

The new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, has blamed termites for the destruction of his primary school leaving certificate.

Justice Mohammed claimed that termites had infiltrated his home in Bauchi state sometime in 1998 and proceeded to eat up all his documents.

“No portion of the certificate was salvaged,” he said. The claim is reportedly contained in an affidavit which he submitted to the Senate last week to be confirmed as the head of the Supreme Court.

Recall, Justice Mohammed had been the acting CJN following Onnoghen’s trial by the code of conduct bureau. He has since been sworn in officially.
