Senate Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye has said that the Nigerian constitution can never give us progress in the country.

He claimed the constitution provided for an “over- centralised federation or unitary system as against a federal system of government.”

He also noted that crime is local and therefore the solution ought to be local as well.

He added that the constitution was written to favour certain portions which did not benefit the country and that the senators were not ready to change the situation.
