They should stay in China – House of Rep members decline evacuation of Nigerians abroad

The members of the House of Representatives have declined to retrieve and evacuate Nigerians from China as a result of the coronavirus outbreak in the country. 

They lawmakers had vociferously denied the motion on Tuesday when it was brought up by one of the members. 

Hon. Benjamin Kalu had moved a motion entitled: “Urgent need to evacuate stranded Nigerians from China,” causing an eruption on the floor.

The speaker had called for a vote and the resounding ‘Nay’ had shut down the votes 

They reasoned that China had better facilities to handle coronavirus outbreak than Nigeria did at the moment.
