Tinubu asked to resign as Nigerian celebrities react to Kwara church attack

There has been an outpouring of anger, grief and calls for President Bola Tinubu to resign following the deadly attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) branch in Eruku, Kwara State amongst other insecurity challenges.

The attack, in which terrorists killed worshippers during a livestreamed service and abducted several others, has sparked outrage across the entertainment and creative industries.

In numerous X posts seen by Dockaysworld, celebrities including Falz, Adekunle Gold, Peruzzi, Joeboy, Funke Akindele, Timi Dakolo, AY Comedian, Femi Adebayo, TG Omori, and many others have condemned the killings, demanded accountability and lamented the worsening insecurity in the country.

Recall the Kwara church attack is coming less than a day after 25 Kebbi schoolgirls were kidnapped with their whereabouts still unknown.

Below are some of the reactions from celebrities:

@falzthebahdguy

“You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW!”

@Peruzzi

”This Shit Crazyyyyy”

@adekunleGOLD

“This is scary”

@Joeboy reacted with a heartbreak emoji

@boy_director (TG Omori)

“To everyone who ever called this killings propaganda make the judgement of the lord be upon you”

Apostle Emmanuel Iren (@pst_iren)

“For a Country where most people already provide their own water, electricity and everything, we shouldn’t have to also provide our own security.”

BBNaija Star @blaqboi_vic

“Also, if you were among those saying Trump is coming for Oyel God will deal with you accordingly.”

@lasisielenu

”You hear that the worse has happened, what kind of madness is this.

Why? When are we going to start living without fear? I just saw people being shot in a church in Kwara State, why are we showing the world that we can’t fix problems @officialABAT WHY DON’Y WE FEEL SAFE”

@funkeakindele

“They are harmless citizens for God’s sake!!! I’m so weak. Chai”

@timidakolo

“Dear Nigerians, there is a big Difference between “I am healed” and “I am not sick”.

We are seeing these things happening.

People are being killed daily and videos speak to that reality… Denial doesn’t eradicate the problem.”

@AYCOMEDIAN

“Nigeria is turning into a crime scene. Bandits storm churches to kill and abduct Christians.

Children are kidnapped from schools. A Brigadier General is shot dead. Every day brings fresh chaos yet the government remains silent.

How did we get here? And must outsiders come to fix what our leaders refuse to confront?

Which way Nigeria? We need safety, accountability and real action, not silence.”

@realfemiadebayo

“Seeing a livestream of people being attacked inside a church in Kwara.

That elderly woman struggling to find safety… it tells you everything about where we are right now as a nation.

These are human lives. Families, Futures.

Dreams. Real people.

We need to step up our security measures and strategies.

This can’t continue anywhere within our country.

Nigeria must be better than this.

#EndTerroristsKillingInNigeria”

@funkeakindele

“Woke up to see a livestream video of people being attacked inside a church in Kwara. This is sad and disturbing. I wept seeing that old woman who couldn’t walk well running for safety.”

@falzthebahdguy

“How many more people have to be kidnapped and murdered in cold blood? How many more lives do you want to waste? How many more futures do you wish to erase with your incompetence and inaction? @officialABAT”

@mrmacaronii

“Nigerians are waking up to yet another terrorist attack on a church in Kwara state. We have a tone deaf President, a callous and irresponsible Government surrounded by the worst set of lunatics whose sycophancy and deception have made this country unbearable for the People!!!

These terrorist attacks concerns all of us!! Please don’t think it doesn’t affect you. Whether it happens in the North, South, East or West, it affects all of us!!!

We cannot keep quiet while Nigerians are being slaughtered in different parts of the Country!

This is madness!!!”

@VectorThaViper

“if the government can’t handle “bandits” and don’t want externals coming in, they should let everyone have license right to assault rifles…

Only then can we see if the bandits are as bad as they appear since everywhere is literally becoming a war zone.”

@Iyanya

“This is Terrifying. God have mercy”

@yemialadee

“People are being kidnapped every day in Nigeria…. is it only the citizens that are feeling the pressure, our leaders “DO BETTER” please protect us all.”
