Tinubu bans exportation of key raw material

President Bola Tinubu has announced a temporary six-month ban on the export of raw shea nuts, effective immediately.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, shared the update at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

The move aims to curb informal trade, support local processing, capture greater export value, and stabilize the affected sector.

The restriction will last six months and is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s value chain, potentially generating an estimated $300 million in the short term.
