The Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Grace Adayilo is dead.
She died suddenly after slumping in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Details surrounding her death are still emerging, and neither her family nor the FCT Administration has issued an official statement.
Adayilo made history when President Bola Tinubu approved her appointment as FCT Head of Service last October, becoming the first woman and indigenous person to hold the role.
Her leadership was seen as a breakthrough in both gender and regional representation in the FCT’s civil service.
Her last public duty was on Thursday, when she represented FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at the G7 security meeting in Abuja.
Her sudden death has sent shockwaves across the territory’s administration and among those who worked closely with her.
