Tinubu’s ex campaign coordinator dumps APC for ADC

A former campaign coordinator for President Bola Tinubu, Aliyu Saulawa, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The defection took place on Sunday in Katsina, during the inauguration of the ADC’s state chapter.

Saulawa, who once served as the Director of Media for the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation and National Coordinator of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement, said he could no longer continue with the ruling party due to its failure to address key issues, especially in the North.

He pointed to insecurity, economic struggles, and unfulfilled promises as reasons for his decision.

The event in Katsina saw hundreds of members from the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) also dump their parties to join the ADC.

The gathering, held at the Continental Event Centre, was led by Dr Mustapha Inuwa and attracted defectors from all 34 local government areas of the state.

According to the defectors, worsening insecurity and growing poverty have made life unbearable, especially for people who depend on farming and trading in the Northwest.

They said the current leadership has failed to bring relief, and that joining the ADC was a move towards a better future.

Speaking at the event, Lawal Batagarawa, who represented the National Political Coalition Group, spoke about the declining value of the naira, rising inflation, and the collapse of businesses.

He called on Nigerians to unite and support the ADC in order to bring change.

Katsina ADC Chairman, Usman Musa Wamba, expressed hope that the party would perform well in 2027.

He urged young people and voters across the state to join the party, assuring that ADC would offer better leadership, fairness, and development.
