Bola Oyebamiji, the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, is also considered the preferred choice of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The aspirants who withdrew include former Deputy Governor Benedict Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke (SAN), Babatunde Oralusi, and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh.

The meeting saw the presence of key APC leaders, including National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum Governor Hope Uzodimma, and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola.

At the end of the discussions, the aspirants and party officials issued a joint declaration pledging their support for the consensus candidate and committing to work together to secure APC’s victory in the 2026 Osun governorship election.

The December 13 primary will formally confirm Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate, presenting a united front for the upcoming election.
