The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has officially reinstated Alhaji Kabir Sani-Giant as the Special Adviser on Power and Politics to Governor Nasir Idris.
His reinstatement comes several months after he was suspended for bringing a live snake into the Government House in Birnin Kebbi earlier this year.
Sani-Giant was initially suspended on February 28, 2025, following a shocking incident that took place on February 8.
On that day, he allegedly arrived at the Government House with a snake, reportedly to intimidate high-ranking dignitaries, political officials, and guests present.
The act caused widespread tension and drew serious backlash from members of the political community and the public, prompting his swift suspension by the party leadership.
However, on Monday, July 7, 2025, the Kebbi State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Muhammad Kana-Zuru, issued a statement in Birnin Kebbi confirming that Sani-Giant had been reinstated.
The statement explained that the decision was made by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party after a thorough review of a formal apology letter submitted by Sani-Giant.
According to Kana-Zuru, the SWC met on Tuesday to discuss the matter and reached a unanimous decision to lift the suspension.
He noted that Sani-Giant’s apology was accepted, and all his rights, responsibilities, and privileges within the party were fully restored.
In his words, “The committee resolved to reinstate your membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC). You are, therefore, by this letter, directed to continue with your normal responsibilities given to you. Your rights and privileges thereto are hereby restored.”
