Ucl permutations: All four Premier League teams could secure qualification for knockout stage in matchday five

The Uefa Champions League makes a welcome return and all Premier League teams could secure qualification for the knockout stage of the Champions League this week.

Bayern Munich, Juventus and PSG are the teams already through to the last 16 with two group games to play.

This is what each English side needs this week to progress:

Tottenham: Will go through from Group B if they beat Olympiakos on Tuesday, or if they draw and Red Star Belgrade fail to beat Bayern Munich.

Manchester City: A win against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday would put City through as winners of Group C. A draw would also guarantee a last-16 spot.

Liverpool: A win against Napoli on Wednesday would put Liverpool through as Group E winners. If Salzburg fail to beat Genk, Liverpool would also progress regardless of their result against Napoli.

Chelsea: Will go through from Group H with a win over Valencia as they will have a better head-to-head record against the Spanish side.

Group A

Ligue 1 champions PSG are through from Group A, topping the table with four victories.

They have scored 10 goals and are
yet to concede.

Real Madrid, 13-time winners of the competition, are well-placed to advance as well, five points clear of Bruges in third.

Turkish champions Galatasaray are eliminated.

Group B

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich progressed from Group B with four victories from four games.

Last season’s beaten finalists Tottenham will go through if they beat Olympiakos on Tuesday, or if they draw and Red Star
Belgrade fail to beat Bayern Munich.

Olympiakos are bottom with just a single point and would need results to go their way to go through.

Group C

Premier League champions Manchester City missed the chance to seal their last-16 place by being held to a 1-1 draw by Group C’s bottom side Atalanta, who could stand a chance of progressing by winning both their games.

Pep Guardiola’s side need just one more point to ensure progression.

Second-placed Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb in third are both locked on five points apiece.

Group D

Serie A champions Juventus came from behind to beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 and went through from Group D with 10 points from four games.

Second-placed Atlético Madrid are in a strong position to progress, four points clear of Lokomotiv and Bayer Leverkusen, who both have three points.

Group E

Defending champions Liverpool top Group E and one win from their final two games will take them into the last 16 again.

Second-placed Napoli have eight points, four more than Red Bull Salzburg, while Genk are eliminated as they have a solitary
point.

Group F

La Liga champions Barcelona will make it out of Group F if they beat Borussia Dortmund in their meeting at the Nou Camp
next time out.

The German side’s 3-2 victory over Inter Milan, from 2-0 behind, proved crucial as they lie three points clear of the
Italians.

Slavia Prague are adrift at the bottom.

Group H

Group H is extremely tight. Dutch champions Ajax, Chelsea and Valencia are all on seven points, with Lille already out.

If there is a winner in Wednesday’s match between Valenciaand Chelsea they will go through, leaving the loser and Ajax to
battle for the second spot.

If it’s a draw, the final round of matches will be fascinating.
