There was chaos in Hall 2 hostel at the main campus of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) yesterday at about 5.00pm when the incumbent SUG President Afufu Anthony, forcefully broke into the Medical hostel with some students alongside the declared winner Enyam Kelvin, who was sworn in after an allegedly rigged election which took place April 24th, 2018.
According to reports, cars drove into the surroundings and began throwing bottles at the hostel block and shattering glasses.

Then the incumbent SUG President and his companions forcefully entered the hostel inflicting injuries on students who tried to hold the door in place in the process.
While inside the hostel the SUG president was then carted away into common room by some students to ensure that he is available to be held responsible for the damages to school property and the disruption of Peace.
Security men from the surveillance unit arrived the hostel and attempted to break the locks, after failed attempts the security men opened fire thereby injuring students who ran away.
They Also threatened to shoot at the students who stood by the gate.
The Chief Security Officer, Mr Simon Jarlath arrived the premises and had a conversation with the Senate President, Etta Enyi whom resides in the hall after which he threatened residents that should the President fail to be released within a stipulated period, police officers would gain entry by whatever means.
The students duly released the SUG President unharmed, and he was taken away by security operatives.
When students demanded that attention should be given to injured medical students who were left unattended to, security men ended up shooting into the air to scare off students.
However the situation has been calmed but the students are scared of a possible reprisal from the hoodlums who accompanied the popular SUG President, as well as his loyalists and sympathizers in and around campus.
