US President Donald Trump has revealed that the United States has carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and captured President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, flying them out of the country.
Trump disclosed this in a post on Truth Social, saying the operation was conducted in conjunction with US law enforcement, with further details to be provided at a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m. at Mar-a-Lago.
Venezuela’s government had earlier accused the US of attacking civilian and military installations in several states and declared a national emergency, rejecting what it described as military aggression by Washington.
The development follows months of heightened tension between both countries, with the US accusing Maduro of drug trafficking, claims he has denied, alongside sanctions and repeated air and sea strikes targeting alleged smuggling operations.
Trumps post reads:
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a News Conference today at 11 A.M., at Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J.
TRUMP”
Recall the United states also recently launched air strikes in Nigeria targeted at neutralizing Islamic terrorists.
