WAEC withdraws 2025 exam results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily withdrawn access to the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.

This decision was taken after the exam body discovered technical problems linked to a new system used during the exams.

The issue came to light during an internal review carried out by the Council shortly after the results were released.

According to WAEC, the problem was traced to its recent move to introduce paper serialisation in subjects like Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics.

The move was aimed at reducing malpractice, but it caused some errors that affected the display of results for these subjects.

Due to this, the online result checker portal has been shut down for the time being, making it impossible for candidates to access their results.

WAEC has assured all affected candidates that the issue is being handled and that access to the portal will be restored once the technical issues are fixed.

The Council advised candidates to recheck again after 24 hours and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

They should as a matter of importance release the withheld results.
