Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has married a fourth wife, Hiqma, even as he seeks the release of his international passport from court to enable him to travel abroad for medical treatment.
The wedding was held privately in Abuja over the weekend, Dockaysworld gathered
Hafiza Yahaya Bello, his third wife confirmed the development on Instagram.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, his request to retrieve his international passport is currently stalled as the court he approached said it does not have it in custody. Justice Maryanne Anenih of the FCT High Court clarified during Thursday’s hearing that the passport is in the custody of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Bello had asked for the document to be released to him so he could travel for medical attention outside the country. But Justice Anenih said that, even if the FCT High Court were willing to consider the application, it had no power to act since the document was not before it.
Bello, who served as governor of Kogi State from 2016 to 2023, is currently facing charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at both the Federal High Court and the FCT High Court.
Besides the new wife, Bello is married to Amina Oyiza, Rashida, and Hafiza.
