Omoyele Sowore, the AAC Presidential candidate in the 2019 election, has told Senator Shehu Sani that marijuana hair products made in Nigeria would benefit his Afro hairstyle after the Senator kicked against the legalization of marijuana in Nigeria.

Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State had visited Thailand with NDLEA Boss some days ago and pleaded with the federal government to encourage the cultivation of medicinal cannabis, particularly in the state.

In a tweet on Monday, Akeredolu explained that with an estimated value of $145 billion in 2025, the state would be shortchanging itself if it ignores the marijuana business.

We all know that Ondo State is the hot bed of cannabis cultivation in Nigeria,” he wrote. “We know how to grow it and it thrives well in the Sunshine State. With an estimated value of $145 Billion in 2025, we would be shortchanging ourselves if we failed tap into the Legal Marijuana Market.

“Our focus now is Medical Marijuana cultivation in controlled plantations under the full supervision of the @ndlea_nigeria. I strongly implore the FG to take this seriously as it is a thriving industry that will create 1000’s of Jobs for our youth & spur Economic Diversification.”

However Senator Sani who moved against this, told the Ondo State Governor to partner with other states for production of ginger, beans and yam. He tweeted;

“My Brother Akeredolu,Lagos Partnered with Kebbi for Rice, please partner with Niger for Beans, Kaduna for Ginger or partner with Benue for Yam;Please leave this Indian Hemp matter for now, Abeg.”

However Sowore who has been very vocal about his endorsement of marijuana  responded to the senator’s tweet, expressing his disappointment and pointing out that Senator Sani’s hairstyle stood to benefit from the legalization he was against.

He tweeted:

I hate to stand between two Nigerian politicians engaging asinine argument but I am disappointed in you for this tweet. Have you ever thought of it that when this idea finally gains legal ground your Afro hair could benefit from a locally produced line of cannabis hair products?

The Senator replied that his hair did not need marijuana to glow.
