Youth apprehend thugs allegedly sent from Edo State in Akwa Ibom hours before election (photos)

A group of thugs allegedly sent from Benin have been apprehended by vigilant youths in Akwa Ibom, just hours to the governorship and House of Assembly elections today.

According to reports, a bus carrying about 20 political thugs all the way from Edo state – was intercepted in Ikot Esen-Atiamkpat road, Nsit Ubium LGA, Akwa Ibom state.

The leader of the group was beaten mercilessly by the mob as he claimed they were brought from Edo to Akwa Ibom to monitor the elections and also provide “security” at polling units.

He also said they would receive their full payment after the elections are concluded.

The thugs claimed to be needed more at Akwa Ibom than Edo State where no Governorship election is holding today.
