All the schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic Private Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, have been released.
The final batch of 130 students regained their freedom on Sunday, bringing the total number of rescued pupils to about 265, officials confirmed.
The students were kidnapped on November 21, 2025, when armed men attacked the boarding school, abducting 303 students and 12 teachers.

About 50 students escaped shortly after the attack, while another 100 were released on December 8 after security operations.
