The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained popular TikTok streamer Habeeb Hamzat, also known as Peller, over an alleged attempted suicide and reckless driving incident.
The arrest followed a viral video from Sunday, December 14, 2025, showing the 20-year-old driving dangerously while live-streaming, an act that resulted in a serious road crash.
This was disclosed via a statement issued by the Lagos State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.
Police said the suspect’s actions deliberately endangered his life and those of other road users, describing the incident as an attempted suicide carried out on a public road.
The command confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for detailed investigation.
Recall Dockaysworld reported the FRSC Corp marshal had ordered the prosecution of Peller over reckless driving and warned against such conduct by content creators.
Authorities said the outcome of the investigation will be made public and the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of inquiries.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, warned social media influencers and content creators against engaging in reckless, dangerous or unlawful acts online.
He stressed that such conduct will not be tolerated and that offenders will face the full weight of the law.
The police urged all road users to comply strictly with traffic regulations, reaffirming their commitment to public safety and the maintenance of peace across the state.
