President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) air mobilisation team for the 2027 presidential campaign.
The appointment places Keyamo in charge of coordinating air transportation and related logistics for the ruling party’s nationwide campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has been appointed Deputy Director I, while Farouk Ahmed Umar will serve as Deputy Director II.
The appointments were announced in a statement by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Aviation Minister.
The directorate is expected to coordinate flight arrangements for campaign officials and personnel travelling across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
It will also work with other campaign teams to ensure proper planning and smooth movement during campaign activities.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has appointed former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).
The appointment was announced by the DSS in a statement published on October 22, 2026.
Bichi’s appointment followed a recommendation by the current DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, and will run for an initial four-year term beginning October 22, 2026.
He will succeed A.A. Gadzama as chairman of the governing board of the institute, which is located at Lower Usuma Dam in Abuja.
According to the DSS, Bichi brings years of experience in intelligence, security administration, operational leadership and institutional training to the position.
The former DSS chief handed over leadership of the security agency to Ajayi in August 2024.
