Recall that preliminary findings by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) linked the crash to excessive speed and wrongful overtaking, which caused the vehicle to lose control and ram into a stationary truck.

The accident had occurred around noon in the Sinoma area near Sagamu, Ogun State, and involved a Lexus Jeep conveying Joshua and a parked commercial truck.

Anthony Joshua was rushed to Duchess International Hospital in Lagos after the crash, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the Livewell Hospital Morgue in Sagamu. Joshu has since been discharged from the hospital.
