Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital following the road accident in Ogun State that claimed the lives of two of his close associates, Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami.
In a joint statement issued by the Lagos and Ogun State governments, it was confirmed that the boxer was discharged late on Wednesday after doctors certified him clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.Â
The statement noted that Joshua was deeply emotional and heartbroken over the loss of his two friends.
The governments again commiserated with the families of the deceased, describing their deaths as tragic and painful, and prayed for strength and comfort for their loved ones during the difficult period.
It was also disclosed that Anthony Joshua, accompanied by his mother, visited a funeral home in Lagos on Monday afternoon to pay his final respects to Ayodele and Gami. The bodies were being prepared for repatriation later in the evening.
