Zamfara Govt increases NYSC Doctors’ monthly allowance


The Zamfara State Government has increased the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) medical doctors to ₦150,000.

Governor Dauda Lawal announced the increase during the swearing-in of the 2026 Batch A Stream One corps members in Gusau.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Tasi’u Shinkafi, Lawal said the government had made adequate security arrangements in collaboration with relevant agencies.

He said other health professionals would receive ₦50,000 monthly, while all corps members posted to schools, ministries, departments, and agencies would get a ₦20,000 state allowance.

The governor reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the welfare, safety, and security of corps members.

The Zamfara NYSC Coordinator, Malam Muhammad Lawan, praised the government’s support and urged corps members to obey camp rules and participate in skills acquisition programmes.
