Fire engulfs Nigerian governor’s residence

A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at the residence of Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal in the Government Reserved Area of Gusau, the state capital, causing firefighters to rush to the property.

The incident occurred at about 7:20 pm, with the flames reported to have affected part of the governor’s residence.

Fire service officials were quickly alerted and moved to the scene to prevent the situation from getting worse.

The Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Fire Service Board, Engr. Bello Sani Gusau, personally led the firefighting team to the governor’s residence.

The firefighters began efforts to put out the blaze and stop it from reaching other sections of the building.

A source familiar with the incident disclosed that the fire was concentrated around a security room within the governor’s residence.

Firefighters were said to have worked to bring the situation under control while also protecting other parts of the property from being affected.

The incident caused activity around the residence as emergency personnel worked at the scene. Efforts were focused on containing the fire and ensuring that it did not spread beyond the area where it started.
