Ikechukwu, husband of the woman recently arrested over the alleged molestation of her daughter, has broken his silence, saying he initially thought a video showing the incident was generated by artificial intelligence.
Ikechukwu said he returned from his business on Thursday evening and was unaware of what had happened until a friend called him, showed him the video on his phone and asked him to come over.
He said, “I saw the video. It was my wife and I saw my daughter. She was molsting the child. I got kind of confused, Could this be true?”
According to him, he immediately went home to confront his wife, but she denied the incident and claimed the video was generated by AI. He recalled asking her, “What exactly is this that I saw on the internet?” before she replied that it was AI and urged him not to believe it.
Ikechukwu said police officers later arrived at their home, searched the premises and arrested his wife. He claimed that it was at the police station, while she was being questioned, that she admitted the incident was real.
He said the police later asked whether he knew about what his wife had allegedly been doing to their daughters, adding that both he and his wife reportedly told them he had no knowledge of it.
Ikechukwu said he was devastated by his wife’s admission, adding, “I got weak. I got tired. How come this kind of a thing can happen?”
The distraught father said he had never imagined that his wife could do such a thing to their daughter and described himself as totally disappointed in her.
He explained that he decided to speak publicly because he expected people to make different claims about the situation and wanted the public to hear his side of the story.
