20 NYSC members kidnapped on Independence Day rescued in Imo

Twenty prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and a civilian have been rescued after they were kidnapped in Imo State on Independence Day.

The victims were freed in an intelligence-led operation involving the military, Department of State Services (DSS), police and other security agencies.

Recall Dockaysworld reported that the kidnappers had demanded N50 million each for the release of the prospective corps members before the ransom demand was later reduced.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at a DSS facility, according to security sources, while investigations continue into the abduction and efforts are ongoing to apprehend any remaining suspects.
