Man rap*s, murders pregnant woman in Plateau State

A middle-aged man identified as Timrimg Napkur, has been apprehended for the alleged ra*e and murder of a pregnant woman in Plateau state.

The incident is said to have occurred on February 28, 2019, in Gangnim Village, Plateau State.

The victim, Zainab Abu, was reported to have been washing clothes at a river bank with her two daughters when she was allegedly assaulted by the suspect. 

According to the state commissioner of police, Isaac Akinmoyede, Napkur had r*ped the victim before strangling and pushing her into the river where she drowned.

“The victim’s two daughters, Aije 7-year old and Khadija 4-year old, escaped and reported the crime to their father,” the police commissioner said.

The suspect, in his response, confessed to the crime, saying he regretted his action.
