The Ogun State Police Command has revealed that the 4 other RCCG victims abducted alongside Deaconess Mrs Ibelego Chidinma have also been rescued unhurt.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the information to Channels TV on Saturday afternoon.

The General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had on Friday announced the abduction of the clerics on Friday at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye, while charging the congregation to pray for the release of the abductees, said the abduction took place on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis.

During a vigil service, he’d however clarified that only one of the abductees was a pastor while the other 4 were not.

He was quoted as saying,

“People have been taunting me and challenging me that since I hear from God how come this is happening to your church pastors.

“I want to say it has been confirmed that only one pastor of the church was kidnapped along with four other people. That does not reduce from the weight of the incidence however.”

“The church will continue to pray for the release of all those who have been kidnapped”, he said.
