Edo governor announces new minimum wage for all workers

A new minimum wage of N70,000 has been approved for all civil servants in Edo State by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The governor revealed this while commissioning the new Labour House in Edo state on Monday.

According to him, the new wage comes into effect on May 1st, 2024.

More governors are expected to follow suit and increase the minimum wage for civil servants in order to cushion the effects of the economic hardship and fuel subsidy removal.
