Pastor kidnaps, murders church member who showed him his new car

A pastor identified as Mbonu Michael, has been apprehended by the police for killing a church member of his, Princewill Ezeji, who had come to show him his new car.

The 27-year-old prophet reportedly murdered the new car owner and hid his body which was not discovered for weeks in Imo state. 

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, 

“on the 6/09/2019 at about 11:00hrs, one Emeka Ezeji reported to the Command about the disappearance of his brother, one Princewill Ezeji. 

 

He said that the deceased, a graduate of philosophy, bought a Camry car and went to show same to his prophet, Mbonu Micheal, and since then nothing was heard of him.”

Ikeokwu revealed that the pastor had confessed after he was caught and took the police to the bush where they found the deceased, the car, phone and SIM card, bible and charms. 

Four other people were arrested in connection with the incident. They are, Kingsley Udemba, 24, Nwogu Anslem  59, Blessing Michael, 25, and Chidinma Godwin, 27.

“While the victim was missing, one Kingsley Udemba, a close friend, showed up and claimed that Princewill was missing because he defrauded him.

The parents of the missing person had to raise N960,000 and paid Kingsley, yet the boy was not released.

Upon investigation and thorough digital analysis, Kingsley collected the ransom as agreed, but he had no knowledge of the victim’s whereabouts. The prophet, who is a family friend and was following the parents to look for Princewill, was indicted. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime,” Ikeokwu added
