A male Nigerian soldier identified as Edward Onoriode, has called female Nigerian soldiers lazy and supported the First lady’s approach that women be involved actively in fighting insecurity.
The soldier added that he had fought alongside many burger women in other countries but that the case was not the same in Niger where women were not sent to the frontlines.
In a since deleted tweet, he referred to female Nigerian soldiers as ‘lazy’.

He wrote:
I had fought war along women soldiers from different countries. I was in Sudan & Somalia & I’ve work with women soldiers from China, US, Britain, Israel, Kenya, Bangladesh, Uganda, Ethiopia, etc.
Aisha Buhari is spot on. There’s a lot our women Soldiers can do of deployed out.
Nigerian Women soldiers are lazy.
Recall, First Lady, Aisha Buhari had suggested that women be allowed to participate actively in fighting insecurity and that there should be no discrimination in the military.
