Man stabbed to death by girlfriend over refusal to fund daughter’s birthday bash

A man identified as Bala Haruna has been stabbed to death by his girlfriend, Stella Peter, for refusing to pay for their daughter’s birthday party.

The 23-year-old lady had lashed out at him after she got into a heated argument with her 25-year-old boyfriend over the funds for the one year birthday anniversary in Lagos.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Bala Elkana, made this known to news men.

Bala said that the ‘couple’ were not actually married but had been living together at No. 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere for three years. 

Elkana said, 

“An argument ensued between them which turned violent and the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man in the back which led to his death. 

The woman accused the man of refusing to release money for their daughter’s birthday party.”
