I’m not a cultist, I was charmed on my way to church – Arrested Ilaro SUG President confesses

The SUG president of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, Adegboye Olatunji, who was arrested after being caught initiating people into a cult has denied that he is a cultist.

The young man said that he had been charmed by the actual cultists and that he was a devout Christian.

He narrated how he’d suddenly found himself amongst the notorious group when he’d never joined them.

Olatunji, was arrested over the weekend alongside one Olarewaju Taiwo during the initiation of new members into the dreaded cult after members of the public alerted the police.

The duo had been suspended immediately but the former pre has now said that his treatment was unfair as he was not guilty.

Speaking on the turn of events at the command headquarters in Eleweran during a parade of 77 suspected criminals, Adegboye said he was charmed by cultist, then taken into the bush for initiation.

He said;

“I am not a cult member. I don’t know how I got into the bush. I was charmed, I don’t know how it happened.

“I was going to the church around 7am on Sunday. I was going to a church in llaro. My rector also goes to that church and he hates anything cultism.

“They didn’t fight for me because they didn’t make the proper findings.” He said about his school.
