UK Warns Citizens Against Trips to 14 Nigerian States
The United Kingdom has released a travel advisory to its citizens, warning them against visiting Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa states in Nigeria due to the upcoming elections happening in the three states.
The advisory was released on Saturday following the alert by the United States to its citizens over possible attacks on hotels in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Develoment Office, FCDO, in the travel advisory released, also warned against all visits to other states like Yobe, Gombe, Adamawa, Borno, Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, and the riverine areas of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta and River states.

Reacting to this, the Nigerian government has issued additional security officials to the three states in a bid to prevent violence.
