Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed his strategic plan to bolster the party’s influence by increasing the number of governors and legislators affiliated with the APC.

Ganduje shared his vision with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

He emphasized the importance of expanding the party’s presence at the state and national levels.

He also outlined the goal of securing more governors and increasing the number of legislators and State Houses of Assembly members under the APC banner.

Unlike the traditional approach of political parties being active solely during election periods, Ganduje emphasized the need for the APC to maintain continuous activity throughout the year.

He drew a parallel with developed democracies, where political parties are active entities involved in ongoing activities beyond election cycles.

According to him, a political party should function as a two-way traffic system.

“In our tradition, usually, political parties as institutions are only active during the electioneering.

“But in developed democracies, political parties as institutions are active because they are not only limited to election, but recruitment of members,” Ganduje said

Addressing recent developments at the APC national secretariat, Ganduje highlighted adding a church building within the premises and creating shops to curb street hawking around the complex.

“Before now, there was no church within the party secretariat; nobody went to church on the premises, but now, we have a new church building going on.

“We have shops to avoid street hawking around the complex, and we have concrete drainage,” he said.

However, the former Kano state governor failed to address the recent rumours that his position is under scrutiny.

Dockaysworld had earlier reported on how some stakeholders of the party in the north-central region are plotting to remove Ganduje as the APC national chairman.
