Gunmen kill APC chairman

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Mai Dabino community in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, Saidu Basa.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, at about 3:30 pm, along the road leading from Mai Dabino to Danmusa.

A source with knowledge of the incident said the deceased was attacked by gunmen while returning from a stakeholders meeting of the APC in Danmusa.

Basa had reportedly given a lift to a passenger who was going to the market at Mai Dabino community.

He was buried on Wednesday evening according to Islamic rites.

Spokesperson for the Police in the state, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, as well as Sani Daura, Chairman of the Katsina State chapter of the APC, have not issued any statement on the incident.
