The major reason was the large age difference between them, Ned was in his late fifties while Regina was just about 19.

Many Nigerians believed that Regina only married him because of his wealth. Her mother, Rita Daniels, was also accused of arranging the marriage for financial gains.

Soon after the wedding, rumors began to spread that Regina had been initiated into a spiritual cult to stop her from cheating on Ned.

She later explained that it was simply a traditional rite for married women in her husband’s hometown, not anything fetish.

However their marriage hit the rock on October 18 2025 after a video of Regina Daniels accusing Ned Nwoko of domestic abuse went viral, the scene was very chaotic with shot fired in the air.

In her defence, Regina’s brother called out the senator accusing him of physical abuse and allegedly sending thugs after the actress.

Senator Ned Nwoko would then break his silence in a lengthy instagram post, revealing that Regina Daniels had become a chronic alcohol and drug addict, who has refused to go for rehab.

He also alleged that Regina had abondoned their sick son Munir and physically assaulted her domestic staff while destroying properties in his house including the windscreen of his Ferarri.

The event has ignited heated debate on social media. While many support the actress decision to speak out, many have equally criticized and mocked her.

In the clip, Nwoko was seen entering the restroom while Regina recorded, covering his body with her own and the word “mine” written across the screen.

What stirred controversy was the background soundtrack, which contained lyrics saying: “kill your husband, make your life better, If you kill your husband, you no go suffer.”
