From Gbagada to Eko Hotels: Hilda Baci’s giant pot set to feed over 20,000 [VIDEO]

Former Guinness World Record holder and celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, is set to make history once again with the unveiling of a massive 22,619-litre custom-built pot designed for the largest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice ever cooked.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Baci shared a video on her official Instagram page showing the pot being transported on a truck from Gbagada, where it was fabricated, to its new home at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

“At 4:am this morning our pot was safely transported from Gbagada where it was fabricated to Eko Hotels where the event is taking place. I’m still pinching myself this is actually happening in less than 24 hours,” she wrote, expressing her excitement as preparations reached their peak.

Originally billed to hold at Muri Okunola Park, the event tagged World Jollof Festival was moved to the larger Eko Hotels venue after registrations surged past 20,000, far exceeding the park’s 3,500 capacity.

The festival, which kicks off at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, will see Hilda attempt to create the biggest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice the world has ever witnessed.

The spectacle has generated massive buzz both online and offline, with food enthusiasts, culture lovers, and fans eagerly anticipating the historic moment.
