APC Debunks Fake Lists, Releases Authentic List Of Names Endorsing Sanusi

Ahead of the upcoming local government elections on July 12 in Lagos State, key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have dismissed a chairmanship candidate list submitted to the state party chairman.

They claim the list is invalid and did not come from the recognised leadership of the council.

In a letter dated May 2, 2025, addressed to the APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the leaders expressed concern over a list allegedly submitted by Hon. Benjamin Olabinjo, the representative for Ifako Federal Constituency.

According to the letter, the list was not approved by the required quorum of Ojokoro’s APC apex council and should be disregarded.

Two prominent party leaders, Ipoola Omisore (a former two-term Lagos State lawmaker) and Adisa Owolabi (a former member of the House of Representatives), who co-signed the letter, explained that the supposed list of 20 names did not reflect the official council leadership, which comprises only 18 recognised members.

They noted that this questionable list was reportedly passed on through Hon. James Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency.

The leaders accused the list’s backers of including individuals who are not genuine party leaders, calling the act “impersonation.”

The legitimate APC leaders clarified that, in previous meetings, 12 of the 18 recognised council leaders agreed to support Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi as the APC’s chairmanship candidate.

To avoid conflicts of interest, Sanusi and two other aspirants were not allowed to vote, leaving 15 eligible voters, 11 of whom endorsed Sanusi.

They added that this endorsement was made voluntarily and reflects a clear majority.

“There is no confusion here. Sanusi was chosen by 11 out of 15 voting leaders. That’s a strong consensus,” the letter read.

The leaders urged the state chairman and other party officials not to be misled by “a few self-serving individuals” who may try to undermine the party’s unity.

They concluded that any list other than the one backing Sanusi should be considered null and void, stating:

“Our list is the original and authentic one. It reflects the true decision of Ojokoro’s APC leadership and would hold up under any legal or moral review.”

Among the 11 signatories supporting Sanusi were:

Ipoola Omisore

Chief Oluyomi Olaogun

Otunba Aremu Akindele

Adisa Owolabi

Emmanuel Olotu

Jelili Oseni

Dr. Waheed Adeleke Ipaye

Prince Adewale Bello

A.A. Amosun

Dr. Idris Salako

H.I.D. Tijani

Fatimo Oye-Balogun
