Court Sentences Lagos BRT Driver to Death for Murder of Bamise Ayanwola


A Lagos High Court has sentenced Andrew Nice Ominikoron, a driver with the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, to death by hanging.

He was found guilty of the murder of 22-year-old fashion designer, Bamise Ayanwola.

The verdict was delivered on Friday, May 2, 2025, by Justice Sherifat Sonaike at the court sitting in Tafawa Balewa Square.

Bamise had gone missing in February 2022 after boarding a BRT bus driven by Ominikoron.
