Badejo-Okusanya elected NBA’s 33rd president


Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has been elected the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the total votes cast in Saturday’s NBA national election.

She defeated her closest rivals, Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who polled 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who garnered 5,855 votes.

The election also produced other national executive officers, including Oghenero Okoro as First Vice President with 11,024 votes and Afam Okeke as General Secretary with 8,478 votes.

Aghogho Gladys emerged Assistant General Secretary after polling 14,312 votes, while Chinelo Audrey Ofoegbunam was elected Welfare Secretary with 14,911 votes.

The newly elected officials are expected to steer the affairs of the association for the next administration.
