Bandits are now in Lagos – Man shares chilling tale of how he was almost beheaded by kidnappers [video]

A Nigerian man has raised the alarm about an alleged invasion of Lagos by bandits after he was nearly beheaded around Lekki area by kidnappers.

The man who identified as a skate coach, said that he’d boarded a bus at the Lekki-Ikoyo link bridge in Lagos state but realized the vehicle was being gassed in the course of the ride.

He’d swiftly used a handkerchief to stifle the smoke hence didn’t lose consciousness like the other passengers.

The bandits had then stopped the bus and attempted to kill him in multiple ways but were unsuccessful due to his ‘fortifications’.

He stated that he’d found a way to get hold of knife and proceeded to injure some of the assailants prompting them to leave him for dead and abscond with the other abductees.

The skate coach stated that the location of his kidnap from a highly rated area of Lagos showed that the state had been infiltrated.

Meanwhile the Lagos state police command has commenced investigation into the event.

In a statement via the force public relations officer (PRO), Benjamin Hundenyin, the police revealed that it was aware of the video making rounds online and has commenced investigations into the incident.

In an statement via his verified twitter account, SP Hundeyin said;

The Lagos State Police Command is not unaware of the video making the rounds about the presence of some criminals in the Lekki area of Lagos.

In-depth investigation has commenced.

The Command will leave no stone unturned towards ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors to Lagos State.

All human, material and operational resources have been duly and optimally deployed to achieve this.

We appreciate Lagosians for always saying something when they see something. We encourage more of this.

Together, we’ll keep Lagos State safe for all and sundry.
